Most of the area was sunny and dry on Saturday, but that wasn’t the case everywhere, and many residents saw a funnel cloud descend from the sky near Mulberry Grove around 6PM.
Both Greenville and Bond County Police told WGEL they received multiple calls, some from as far away as Carlyle, reporting the funnel cloud.
Greenville police said the cloud did not touch the ground but ascended back into the sky. The cloud formed a long thin funnel that spiraled downward.
The excessive heat and humidity can quickly form storms like that one on Saturday and it’s always a good idea to be weather aware. Pictures from the Greenville Fire Protection District.
