Greenville College Grad To Compete On Biggest Loser

When the hit NBC show “The Biggest Loser” debuts its new season on September 11, it will feature a woman with local connection.

Sonya Jones is originally from Litchfield and graduated from Greenville College in 1996. Jones played softball at GC, where she was the first person to ever hit a ball out of the park, and played two years of semi-pro softball following college. According to NBC, she was an All-American two consecutive years and was named the All-American Player of the Year. She is now a physical education teacher in Springfield, IL.

Jones said she wanted to go on “The Biggest Loser” to lose weight, get healthy, feel good about herself, and be a good role model as PE teacher to the kids in her district.
