Greenville High School Welcomes New Assistant Principal

When students return to Bond County Unit 2 High School next week, they’ll be greeted by a new assistant principal. David Weller was hired over the summer to replace Brad Turner, who took the position as superintendent of the Unit 1 School District in Mulberry Grove.

“We have David Weller, who is joining us at the high school as the assistant principal,” Greenville High School Principal Wendy Porter told WGEL. “He comes to us from Bethalto, where he has been an administrator and assistant principal for eight years. Before that he was a teacher for 12 years in the Granite City High School and Middle School. He has also coached basketball at different levels when he was teaching. He taught mostly Health and Social Studies.

“We’re pleased to have him. He has some administrative experience, which is helpful for us. He’s aware of the new Illinois evaluation process, so that will be extremely helpful as we go through our school year without Mr. Turner.”

Classes get underway at all Unit 2 schools on Tuesday, August 19th with a one-hour early dismissal each day through Friday.
