Single Vehicle Accident Sends Multiple Teens To The Hospital

A single vehicle accident in Montgomery County caused 4 teenagers to be air lifted to area hospitals Tuesday.

According to police, Jarod Oakley, age 16, of Irving, was traveling westbound on Seven Sisters Avenue around 4:52 Tuesday afternoon when he left the roadway, traveled through a ditch, and struck a tree. The truck had three passengers along with Oakley. Oakley was extracted from the truck and air lifted to Memorial Hospital in Springfield. 14 year old Isabel Ysunza and 17 year old Joshua Blankenship, both of Hillsboro, were extracted and also air lifted to Memorial Hospital. A third passenger, 16 year old Balin Robbins, also of Hillsboro, was air lifted to Cardinal Glennon Children’s hospital in St. Louis.

Nine different emergency and police departments responded to the scene and the crash remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sherriff’s Office.
