Bicentennial Store Now Open

The Greenville Bicentennial now has an official outlet for all of its souvenirs. The Bicentennial Store is located inside Third Street Market, 520 S. Third. Merchandise featuring the Bicentennial logo includes t-shirts, mugs, hats, coins, and baskets. Proceeds from the sale of merchandise will benefit the Bicentennial celebration in 2015. The Bicentennial Store is open during Third Street Market’s regular hours. They are open every day but Wednesday.

Two new baskets, manufactured by American Traditions Basket Co., are now available. The “executive letter basket”—featuring a laser etched drawing on its hinged lid of the Greenville Public Library created by the late Robert Horsfall—may be purchased for $65. The “buckeye basket”—a smaller, round basket with the Bicentennial logo on its removable lid—may be purchased for $45. Each basket is adorned with a commemorative Greenville Bicentennial brass tag. Additional merchandise is being planned.

Greenville’s Bicentennial celebration will launch this December 31 with a “Bicentennial Blast-off” from 7:00 p.m. until midnight at the American Farm Heritage Museum’s main building. This special New Year’s Eve party will offer food, games, and entertainment in a family friendly setting. More details on the “Bicentennial Blast-off” will be released in the near future.
