In the recent Bond County Board meeting, Kim Taylor of FAYCO Enterprises provided board members with an update on the recycling program in the county.
So far this year, over 31 tons of recyclables have been turned in to the facility, located behind the Greenville Vet Clinic on Rt. 40 east of Greenville. Most of that material has been cardboard and newspaper. Taylor said she encouraged more people to bring office paper and magazines to be recycled.
The materials, which are picked up by participants in FAYCO’s programs, measure approximately one ton per week. At that rate, Taylor says the year-end total for 2014 is expected to be around 50 tons.
