First National Bank Announces The Formation Of The Bond County Community Foundation Board

Ernie Chappel, President of The First National Bank announces the formation of the Bond County Community Foundation. “The Foundation’s purpose is to bring donors and local needs together to benefit such areas as art and culture, community development, education, human services and youth”, Chappel stated. Per its mission statement, the Foundation is “Dedicated to the furtherance of charitable and educational opportunities within the local Greenville/Bond County area and those areas adjacent thereto.”

Board members are: Alan Gaffner, President (Representing the City of Greenville), Brad Turner, Vice President (Representing Mulberry Grove schools), Pat Kious, Secretary (Representing The First National Bank) and Liz Heinzmann, Treasurer (Representing the First National Bank Trust Department). Also serving as board members are Jeff Strieker (Representing Bond County Unit 2 School District), John Goldsmith (Representing Greenville Chamber of Commerce), Howard Elmore (Representing the Bond County Board), Frank Watson and Anna Oestreich serving as community at-large members and Janice Romack serving in an advisory position.

Chappel added, “By forming this Foundation we hope to stimulate philanthropy to build a better Bond County Community. We have a very generous community and there are many needs waiting to be served. This charitable foundation simplifies the process for anyone wanting to make that difference.”
