Harvest Is Underway In Bond County Fields

Harvest is underway in Bond County fields. Bond and Fayette County Farm Bureau Manager Stephanie Kraus told WGEL that the harvest got off to a slow start, but should produce good yields.

“Harvest has started,” Kraus said. “It’s kind of had a slow start compared to what everyone was thinking it would be, because everything seemed to grow really fast this summer and seemed to be really far ahead.

“Some of the yields that I have heard of have been very, very good. They were over 200 bushels an acre for corn, so that’s good news for the farmers.”
