Man (And Goat) Stop In Greenville On Needle To Square Journey

As you’ve been out and about in Greenville the past few days, if you thought you spotted a man walking a goat…your eyes were not playing tricks on you.

Steve Westcott has been walking across America on and off over the past few years with his pet goat, Leroy Brown.

“I’m walking from Seattle to New York City to raise $200,000 to buy a farm for an orphanage that my best friend started in Nairobi, Kenya, called Uzima,” Westcott told WGEL. “That’s the short version. My project is called ‘Needle to Square’, which stands for the Space Needle to Times Square.”

Westcott and Leroy Brown visited Greenville College Thursday night and will spend some time Friday at The Glenwood in Greenville.
You can learn more about Steve Westcott and the Uzima Orphanage on the website needle2square.com. WGEL’s Ryan Mifflin will host Westcott on an upcoming edition of WGEL’s Public Affairs program.
