Many Activities Planned For GHS Homecoming Week

This is homecoming week at Greenville High School and there are many activities planned to celebrate Comets spirit.

GHS teacher Erin Shevlin told WGEL the theme for this year’s homecoming is “Disney”. “The kids are very excited,” she said.

“Wednesday afternoon we’ll hold class games. Each class competes against the others to see which class has the most pep and spirit and is the best at the games they’ve lined out. Thursday night is the Volley for a Cure game against Vandalia at 5:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at 3:30 is the parade through town. Following that, students have a tailgate party, where they can come and relax before the football game, get their faces painting, eat some chili, and listen to some music.”

The homecoming football game against Pana gets underway at 7:00 p.m. You can hear the game right here on WGEL and on starting around 6:40.

Homecoming week wraps up Saturday with a dance at 7:00 p.m. and coronation of homecoming queen and king at 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to the coronation from 8:30 to 9:00 p.m.
