You can relive those “good ol’ golden rule days” at a pie and ice cream social Sunday, September 21 on the grounds of the One Room School Museum. The day begins with pie and ice cream at 2:00 p.m. followed by a program in the old school by Mary Young, a retired Unit 2 teacher who volunteers at the museum. The One Room School Museum, at the corner of Beaumont Avenue and Wyatt Street, was opened in 1982. The building was originally the Palmer School from Tamalco Township but the furnishings and artifacts came from one room schools across Bond County.
Attendees are encouraged to bring your old school photos and favorite stories to the program. Monetary donations to the One Room School Museum are welcome.
