Prescription Drug Take Back Day This Saturday

If you have unused prescription drugs sitting around the house, you can get rid of them-safely-this weekend. Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. The Greenville Police Department is a drop off point.

“This is a service that’s free,” Greenville Police Chief Lou Lorton told WGEL. “The person would just bring in unused drugs. We have a secure facility here in the lobby of the Police Department where they’re placed. The Drug Enforcement Administration then will come and pick up the drugs and properly dispose of them. That way they’re not hanging around the cabinets of our home or being flushed and getting into the system.”

Police departments across the country will accept unused prescription drugs this Saturday between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
