White Pelicans Return To Governor Bond Lake For Fall

White pelicans have made their fall return to Governor Bond Lake.

According to lake resident Lori File, they spend their day in the coves in the Woburn area. At dusk they come out to explore and hunt. Just before dark, they are visible all over the lake. File says the pelicans are very shy and are difficult to get close to. They also visit the lake in the spring.

The pelicans have been stopping by Greenville for many years.
