This is Fire Prevention Week and it’s a good time to check your smoke detectors at home and make sure the batteries are still good. State law requires every home, apartment, and condo to have a smoke alarm within 15-feet of all bedrooms. Stats show that three out of five fire related deaths are in homes where there are no functioning smoke detectors.
