Leaf Disposal Options In Greenville

Fall brings with it many leaves for homeowners to dispose of.

In the City of Greenville, you have four options for leaf disposal.

The first option is to mulch leaves with a mower blade attachment or place leaves in a compost bin for on-site composting.

The city’s leaf vacuuming program is underway and runs through Friday, December 19. Rake your leaves to the edge of the curb or edge of your yard and city crews will vacuum them up.

Leaves may be bagged for collection on your normal garbage day. There is an additional charge of $2 per bag for more than two bags per week.

The leaf burning season in Greenville begins Saturday, November 1, continuing through the end of the year. Leaf burning permits are required to burn and can be obtained at the Municipal Building. Permits are valid for three years. Burning is allowed only on private property and residents may not burn leaves on any public street, sidewalk, alleyway, or road ditches. Leaf burning is allowed on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the first and third weekends of the month.
