No News On County Errors And Omissions Insurance Claim

Bond County State’s Attorney Chris Bauer told the county board in their meeting Tuesday that there is nothing new to report on the county’s insurance claim through their Errors and Omissions coverage.

The county filed the claim to Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust last month to try and recoup $524,352 in tax money that was not collected due to an assessment error.

Bauer said that he and County Board Chairman Howard Elmore had spoken with insurance representatives, but that the claim was still pending.

There is no time frame for how long the claims process may take or if the claim may be disputed by the insurance company.
