Unit 2 School Board Passes 2014-2015 Budget with 1.1 Million Dollar Deficit

At Monday night’s Unit 2 School Board meeting, the board passed the 2014-2015 budget with a 4-3 vote. Mike Timmerman, James Jackson, and Vance Daniken cast the “no” votes, with Edmar Schreiber, Nate Prater, Jay Young, and Scott Gaffner voting “yes”. The new budget was passed with a $1.1 million deficit.

The annual audit was presented to the board. The district was given a grade of 2.9 which was unchanged from last year. This score is a warning designation for the district finances.

The board approved seven early graduates for the district along with a leave of absence.

The financial report was submitted and reflected that the district received just over $600,000 in payments for September.
