Greenville’s 200th birthday celebration will be launched on New Year’s Eve with the Bicentennial Blast-off, a family friendly party at the main building on the grounds of the American Farm Heritage Museum. The event will run from 7:00 p.m. to midnight—wrapping up with a balloon drop and the firing of a cannon at the adjoining Hill’s Fort replica site.
Pat Kious, Bicentennial events chairperson, said a variety of activities for all ages are planned. “We’ll have a magician, a juggler, unique science experiments, inflatables, food and a disc jockey.” Kious noted that the American Farm Heritage Museum is the perfect location for the Bicentennial Blast-off, “The museum’s Christmas Lights Wonderland will be operating for the final time of the season. We hope everyone will view the Christmas displays and then join us for a night of New Year’s Eve fun.”
The Greenville Bicentennial will announce further details including a schedule of events for the Blast-off in December. The American Farm Heritage Museum is located at 1395 Museum Avenue.
