In their meeting Tuesday night, the Bond County Board unanimously appointed Georgia Shank, of Greenville, acting Bond County Supervisor of Assessments.
Shank has taken all necessary classes to hold the position and December 2 she will take the required Department of Revenue exam. Shank’s appointment will go into effect December 8 and will continue until the results of the exam are known.
The appointment is not to exceed 60 days. However, the board announced their intent that, upon successful passage of the exam, Shank will be appointed to the office of Supervisor of Assessments for a term expiring November 30, 2016, when county voters first cast ballots to fill the position.
Shank will receive the same salary and benefit package as the previous Supervisor of Assessments.
