It was announced last week that Enertech in Greenville had been acquired by NIBE Industrier AB, a Swedish firm.
WGEL spoke with Dan Jackson, Vice President of Operations at Enertech, who told us very little will change at the Greenville business.
“For Enertech it’s a good thing,” Jackson said. “We will be enjoying the backing of a tried and true performer in the geothermal industry from Europe. Current management will stay in place. None of our operations that are currently in Greenville will be moving out of Greenville. Our manufacturing has always taken place in Mitchell, South Dakota and all manufacturing will remain there.
“We are looking for business as usual, with the added bonuses of the new ownership, which will bring us additional resources for engineering and technology.”
Jackson said Enertech was poised to potentially increase their local workforce and following the acquisition, that potential still exists.
