Car-Deer / Semi Truck Accident Sends Two To Hospital

Illinois State Police, assisted by Pocahontas Police, worked a car/deer semi-truck accident Thursday, at 8:49 p.m., on Interstate 70 at the 37 mile marker in the westbound lanes.

According to Pocahontas Police Officer Gino Feazel, a car in the left westbound lane hit a deer. The car slowed down and stopped in the left lane and a semi-truck hit the car from behind and pushed it into the median. The car was totaled and Pocahontas EMS took two people to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland with non-life threatening injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
