Deer Flies Through Car In Crash

We have more information on a car/deer accident we reported Tuesday. According to the accident report, James W. Netemeyer, Jr., age 27, of Edwardsville, was eastbound on New Douglas Avenue Monday, November 24, at 6:23 a.m. Linda L. Hansen, age 60, of Sorento, was westbound in a Buick. A deer ran onto the road and Netemeyer’s Toyota struck the deer and knocked it into Hansen’s car. The deer went through the passenger side of Hansen’s windshield and traveled the length of the car exiting through the rear window. Miraculously, Netemeyer and Hansen were not seriously injured. They refused treatment by Bond County EMS personnel at the scene.
