The Greenville City Council will meet Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m., a day later than normal due to the Veteran’s Day Holiday. Greenville Mayor Alan Gaffner told WGEL Radio the council will discuss the gaming ordinance in Greenville.
The current ordinance allows for gaming anywhere in city limits, providing the establishment meets requirements set forth by the state of Illinois. After passing that ordinance to allowing gaming anywhere in Greenville the council received an application to open a gaming café on the square. Councilman Kenny Hampton asked the council to revisit the ordinance and the possibility of prohibiting gaming on the square.
In past meetings the council has heard from the applicant and from the public concerning video gaming on the Greenville square. Mayor Gaffner said during Wednesday’s meeting the council will discuss the issue and does not anticipate taking further public comment.
Other items on the agenda include the Tax Levy Determination and City insurance for 2015.
