Friday, November 14 is World Diabetes Day and Greenville Regional Hospital will offer free glucose screenings from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the hospital’s Cedar Community Room. Representative John Cavaletto will visit the hospital to mark the occasion as well.
Erica Niemeyer, Executive Assistant at Greenville Regional Hospital, told WGEL Cavaletto was diagnosed with diabetes about two years ago and he wants the public to be aware of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.
“We’ll have two nurses available and they will be doing blood sugar testing for the general public,” Niemeyer told us. “Anyone can come see the representative or come to get their blood sugar checked.”
