Neighbors Alert Residents Of Early Morning House Fire In Keyesport

At 2:14 Sunday morning the Keyesport Fire Department was dispatched to 810 Main Street in Keyesport to a residential structure fire.

The occupants were at home of the time of the fire and had to be awakened be the neighbors. Everyone escaped safely. According to Keyesport fire personnel, it is unknown at this time if there were smoke alarms in the home or if they activated.

The fire was contained to the attic area, with smoke and water damage sustained to the remainder of the residence. The State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate. While the fire is still under investigation, the cause of the fire is suspected to be electrical.

The Mulberry Grove and Wheatfield Fire Departments were called for mutual aid. No one was injured. Keyesport crews were on scene for approximately five hours.

No dollar value has been placed on the damage at this time.
