Rauner Beats Quinn For Illinois Governor

There’s going to be a changing of the guard in the Illinois Executive Mansion. Republican Bruce Rauner [[ first syllable “Rau” rhymes with “Now” ]] defeated current Governor Pat Quinn for the state’s top job. The venture capitalist says he’ll use his business savvy to bring Illinois out of a financial rut. He says that means changing the business climate in Illinois by tackling things like workers’ comp reform and tort reform.

Rauner also wants to let the income tax rate roll back. He’ll offset some of the lost cash by imposing taxes on things like garbage pick-up and mini-storage. Rauner will be sworn in in January.
