The Bond and Fayette County Farm Bureau will hold an informational meeting this week in Vandalia concerning the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline project, which could affect portions of both Bond and Fayette Counties.
The meeting will be Wednesday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fayette County Farm Bureau office.
“So far we don’t have a whole lot of information on it,” Bond and Fayette County Farm Bureau Manager Stephanie Kraus told WGEL. “We know it’s going to impact about 11 or 12 miles through the northeast corner of Bond County. Either they have just filed or are about to file with the ICC. We don’t have anything final on that yet. They haven’t started talking about easements, so, obviously, they haven’t started talking about numbers or compensation that they’ll offer to landowners. So far they’ve just asked landowners to survey their property.”
Kraus told us a guest speaker from the Farm Bureau home office will talk about what could and should be included in easements as well as how to prepare yourself for potential discussions.
