Winter Weather Advisory In Effect For Christmas Eve

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Christmas Eve. The advisory will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The NWS is calling for rain in the morning, mixing with snow around 10:00 a.m., turning completely to snow around 1:00 p.m.

“Right now we’re looking for two to three inches of accumulation in your area, but temperatures as warm as what they’ve been, there probably won’t be much impact on the roads other than maybe some slushy accumulation,” National Weather Service Meteorologist Ben Miller told WGEL. “Most of what’s going to accumulate will be on elevated surfaces and grassy areas. The heaviest snow should be from late morning to early to mid-afternoon, tapering off and ending by the evening. All said and done, it looks like two or three inches should do it.”
