In their special meeting Thursday night, the Bond County Unit 2 School Board met in executive session. Upon the conclusion of the session, the board voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Unit 2 Superintendent Jeff Strieker.
At the school board’s December meeting, Strieker announced he had accepted a multi-year position with another school district in the state of Illinois and would leave his post at Unit 2 effective June 30.
On December 18, the Litchfield Community School District #12 School Board announced they had hired Strieker as their new superintendent. Strieker will assume that role on July 1, replacing the current Superintendent John Mullett, who is retiring.
The Unit 2 School Board has called another special meeting for Monday night, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Office Conference Room. The agenda calls for an executive session and the possible employment of the Illinois Association of School Boards to conduct a superintendent search.
