Bond County Board Makes Appointments, Reviews Memberships

In their meeting this week the Bond County Board announced the reappointment of Tim Zobrist to the Pocahontas/Old Ripley Fire Protection District Board. They also approved the appointment of Shakenna Morris to the Bond County Housing Authority Board as a Resident Commissioner for an unexpired term ending July 17, 2017.

The board reviewed two memberships and opted to continue one and pass on the other.

The group will continue to be a member of the Southwestern Illinois Law Enforcement Commission for an annual membership of $4,016. The group provides a great deal of training for Bond County Deputies.
The board passed on renewing their membership in the Southwestern Illinois Planning Commission. The expense would have been $5,421. Several of the board members commented that the benefits of being in the commission were not worth the large expense associated with membership.
