Fellow Board Member Remembers Dr. Boyd E. McCracken’s Impact On Hospital

With the passing of Dr. Boyd E. McCracken last week, many in the community have reflected on his pivotal role in the formation of Greenville Regional Hospital.

Frank Joy, of Greenville, served on the hospital board of directors with Dr. McCracken for several years. Joy’s father, Frank Joy, Sr., was one of the five original individuals who, along with Dr. McCracken, were contacted by Mary Utlaut and worked toward making the hospital a reality.
