In the Kingsbury Park District Board meeting Monday night, KPD Director Jerry Sauerwein announced that the district had been approved for the state grant that will allow for upgrades to the KPD pool in Greenville. The grant will match local tax funds dollar-for-dollar and will allow for renovations to the existing bath house, a new family changing area and concession stand, a zero-depth entry into the wading pool, a new pool liner, and a splash pad. Work on the upgrades could begin in the fall.
The board unanimously approved the expenditure of $3,500 to move ahead with work on the 18-hole disc golf course at Patriot’s Park. The board also approved a $7,600 purchase of 19 baskets to be used as part of the course.
The board also approved a remote attendance policy, which will allow board members to call in and participate in a meeting over the telephone, as long as the board has a quorum physically present at the meeting.
