Skid Loader Fire On Twentieth Road

Smithboro Firefighters responded Wednesday, at 1:21 p.m., to a reported fire in a shop at a residence on Twentieth Road.

According to First Assistant Chief Bryant Briggs, a skid loader was on fire in a shed. The cause of the fire is undetermined but it is believed the fire started in the engine compartment. The skid loader was pulled from the shed so there was minimal damage to the shed.

Briggs said the skid loader was a total loss and total damages are estimated at approximately $20,000.00.

Mulberry Grove and Keyesport Firefighters were requested to standby in case they were needed but that request was canceled. There were no injuries and Smithboro Firefighters were on the scene about two hours.
