Unit 2 School Board Employs Illinois Association Of School Boards To Conduct Superintendent Search

In a special meeting Monday night the Bond County Unit 2 School Board voted unanimously to employ the Illinois Association of School Boards to help conduct a superintendent search for a cost of $9,200. The new superintendent will replace Jeff Strieker who will leave the his position with the district on June 30.

The basic search would cost the district $6,950, but the board opted to add services including in-district interviews, allowing the firm to meet focus groups, staff, and the community about what they feel would be important to them in a superintendent. Another service the board chose to include was an in-district opportunity for a focus group of the community to have a meet-and-greet with a final group of candidates in consideration for the position.

The group will begin their search immediately.
