6 Inches on the Ground and More on the Way

Snow started to fall in the early evening Sunday and never really stopped. At around 5AM this morning about 6 inches of snow had fallen around the square.

The snow made driving more dangerous yesterday evening and this morning. Local police reported to a handful of accidents.

A Bond County Sheriff’s Deputy responded Sunday, at 7:35 p.m., to a non-injury accident on Interstate 70 in the eastbound lanes at the 49 mile marker.

Greenville Police worked a non-injury accident Sunday, at 7:54 p.m., on College Avenue at Prairie Street.

More snow, 2-4 inches, is expected Monday. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6PM Monday.

A snow emergency in the effect in Greenville, please remove vehicles from snow routes so help plow trucks do their jobs. And always remember to give plow trucks plenty of room on the roads.
