BCHD Reminds It’s Not Too Late For Flu Shots

If you have not yet received a flu shot, the Bond County Health Department wants you to know it’s not too late. Flu season actually extends well into the spring. Health Department officials say getting a shot now may keep you from becoming ill this spring.

In their meeting Monday, the Bond County Board of Health reported that 82 cases of influenza A and 13 cases of influenza B have been confirmed in Bond County this flu season. Four cases of influenza B have been confirmed within the past week.

The health department has distributed nearly 400 flu shots to those 65 and older, 258 vaccinations to those under 65, 239 doses to children, and 18 special case flu shots.

The Bond County Health Department has more of each type of vaccine available and walk-ins are welcome.
