Local employers and the area workforce will have an opportunity to interact at a Work Fair sponsored by the Greenville Chamber of Commerce. The event is Tuesday, March 31 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church gym, 1100 Killarney Drive. Last year’s Work Fair, the first ever held by the Chamber, attracted over 20 local businesses, industry, and state and federal agencies.
John Goldsmith, Chamber Executive Director, explained, “The Work Fair provides employers and area job seekers the chance to meet one on one. Businesses can explain their hiring practices and the skills needed to work for them.”
Some of the participants will be accepting applications that day. A series of free mini-workshops will be available throughout the day to job seekers covering topics like interviewing tips, resume writing, and searching for job openings.
The Chamber of Commerce is now accepting reservations for free booth space at the Work Fair. Local businesses interested in participating should contact the Chamber of Commerce office at 664-9272. Goldsmith said the deadline for businesses to reserve a spot is Wednesday, March 25. He said, “Businesses registering early will be included in our marketing material for the event.”
There is no cost for job seekers to attend and registration is not required.
