Granite City Student Brings Gun To School


A Metro East teenager may face charges for bringing a gun and bullets to school Thursday. Another Granite City High student tipped off administrators and the assistant principal searched the boy’s backpack and confiscated the weapon. Parents were notified through an automated phone message. No one was hurt. The boy reportedly said he needed the gun for protection.
