Mulberry Grove Board Hires New Elementary Principal

It was announced at the January Mulberry Grove Board of Education meeting, Elementary Principal Annette Hartlieb resigned to take a position with the Regional Office of Education, effective at the conclusion of the current school year. At Tuesday night’s meeting the board hired Bobby Koontz to be the Elementary Principal effective July 1, 2015. Koontz is currently the history teacher in the Mulberry Grove High School.

Superintendent Brad Turner reported the district is still getting general state aid payments on time. The second categorical state aid payments for transportation and special education have not been received. The two categories total about $86,000.

Students in the Mulberry Grove Elementary, Junior High, and High School participated in the Valentines for Veterans program through Congressman John Shimkus’ office.

Following a closed session, the board hired Kristina Halford personal care aid in the elementary school.
