Mulberry Grove Firefighters Respond To Early Morning Truck Fire In Fayette County

Mulberry Grove Firefighters responded Wednesday morning at 4:00 o’clock to a report of a pickup truck on fire next to a residence on 200th Street just inside the western edge of Fayette County.

According to Fire Chief Dwight Volkmar, the vehicle was a 2000 F150 Ford pickup. Volkmar said the fire probably started in the engine compartment due to a malfunction in the cruise control.

The truck was totally destroyed but there was no damage to surrounding buildings. There were no injuries and firefighters were on the scene about an hour.
