Plan Commission Recommends Subdividing Property Near Alco Building

The Greenville Plan Commission held a special meeting Monday night at City Hall.

City manager Dave Willey told the board that Westmore Equities, LLC is seeking to purchase just over 7.25 acres that fronts Harris Avenue between the Alco Building and The Glenwood from Brad Voyles. The property is zoned commercial and would look for commercial development.

The plat includes a road being built from Dewey Street and from Harris Avenue and would subdivide the property into two separate lots.

The Plan Commission approved the request which will now pass to the City council for review.

Willey also said that he knows of no specific business that are currently looking at that ground, but that Westmore is a very aggressive developer and it’s a good sign for the city.
