Semi Roll Over Causes Delays On I-70

An early morning semi rollover accident on eastbound Interstate 70 briefly blocked traffic between the two Highland exits Monday afternoon.

Illinois State Police told WGEL the fully-loaded semi left the roadway at the 25 mile marker around 5:30 a.m. and turned over onto its side about 80 feet from the interstate. The truck initially didn’t cause any lane blockage. Cleanup efforts caused the interstate to be shut down between 12:00 and 12:30 p.m.

No one was injured in the accident.
