Suspects Plead Not Guilty In Alleged Crime Spree

More details have emerged in the case of an alleged crime spree that included the shooting of a tavern owner near Carlyle on New Year’s Day.

18 year old Ethan Miller of Carlyle and 18 year old Chad T. Lidisky of Belleville, appeared in Clinton County Court recently and pled not guilty to the alleged charges they are facing.

Miller has been charged with alleged aggravated armed robbery and three counts of alleged aggravated battery.

Lidisky is charged with three counts of alleged burglary and two counts of alleged unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle. Lidisky allegedly entered and stole items from vehicles on Cemetery Road in St. Rose.

Additional minors are facing charges in the case as well.

Phil Koehler, owner of the Flat Branch Saloon on Rt. 127 north of Carlyle, was shot in the chest during the armed robbery early in the morning on New Year’s Day. Clinton County sheriff’s officials say the suspects fled from the bar and allegedly stole two cars. They also allegedly robbed a Casey’s convenience store in Sandoval and led police on a chase through neighborhoods in Millstadt.

Lidisky will appear in court again on February 18. Miller will be in court next on February 26.
