In their meeting Tuesday, the Bond County Board approved a resolution appointing Georgia Shank as Supervisor of Assessments. The board talked with Shank about her goals for the Supervisor of Assessments office. Shank said since this is a quad year for the county, every property will have to be visited and photographed. She also talked about the possibility of posting assessment information online, similar to other counties. Shank said there would be a monthly fee to do so, but she thought it would be a benefit as her office receives several inquiries each day for the info that could be posted online.
Shank also noted there were several townships in Bond County that currently had no assessor, three of which that were vacated by the recent passing of Lester Harnetiaux. She is looking into possible options in regards to the situation.
Following an executive session, the board voted to tender a contract offer to Union 622, a labor union consisting of members of the Bond County Clerk, Treasurer, Supervisor of Assessments, State’s Attorney, and Circuit Clerk offices, whereupon ratification by their members, the board agreed to pass the contract offer. Details of the offer were not discussed in open session.
