A local couple found success again this year at one of the five largest Senior Olympics competitions in the nation.
Dr Everett Sanders, retired music professor at Greenville College, took the gold medal in the Polk County, Florida, Senior Olympics men’s fifty-yard back stroke. His wife, Jane Sanders, retired Spanish professor at Greenville College, took the silver in the women’s fifty-yard back stroke.
From October through March, Everett & Jane serve as host and hostess of one of the dorms on the Florida Holiness Campground in Lakeland, Florida. Jane is the first woman to serve on the Florida Holiness Campground Board of Trustees. Everett serves as the director of the campground handbell choir and plays piano and organ in the campground tabernacle.
Everett and Jane each took home medals in the Polk County Senior Olympics last year as well.
