Mulberry Grove Board Of Education Hears Senior Trip Plans

Senior class sponsors Mr. Bobby Koontz and Mrs. Karen Clark reported final senior trip plans to the board of education Monday night. Twenty-two seniors and three adults will leave the school at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, April 16 bound for five days in Washington DC. Koontz said they just received word of a possible private Pentagon tour. Their schedule can easily be adjusted to include the tour. Students will return Monday, April 20 and Mr. Chad Nelson will be joining Koontz and Clark in chaperoning the trip.

Superintendent Brad Turner reported the district is still waiting on the second categorical state aid payments for transportation and special education. General state aid payments continue to arrive on schedule and the district is loaning money to the transportation fund from the working cash fund.

Elementary PTO President Jamie Epperson reported the fund raising event Cosmic Bingo was very successful. Support was extraordinary and the event raised $5,241.00 for elementary school projects.

In new business, the board approved the renewal of the High School Girls Basketball Coop Agreement with Ramsey District 204 for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 school years and the board also approved re-hiring all certified employees for 2015-2016.

Following an executive session, the board hired Mr. Chad Nelson Athletic Director for 2015-2016.
