Three members of the Greenville High School World Youth Science and Engineering team and their coach Marsha Disch attended the recent Bond County Community Unit 2 school board meeting and displayed the large second place trophy earned in the state contest.

Five subject areas, biology, chemistry, physics, math and English are tested with the top two individual scores, in each subject, used for the team score. Disch said GHS had many students do well overall with Jacob Klenke first in biology and fifth in chemistry, Colton Rainey sixth in chemistry and Kate Timmermann sixth in English.

At the school board meeting, the WYSE team received a standing ovation from those in attendance.
