Goggin Recognized At State Level For Volunteer Efforts

The Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service presented 24 Illinoisans and four businesses with the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award this past weekend. One of those awards went to Dominic Goggin of Greenville.

Dominic is the son of Dan and Terri Goggin and is a junior at Greenville College pursuing a degree in pre-med studies. He has recently obtained his license as an EMT.

He received the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award for his work with the hospice program at the Bond County Health Department. Earlier this year, Goggin was selected as the Bond County Health Department’s Hospice Volunteer of the Year.

Bond County Public Health Director Mark Ayers said everyone at the department is very proud of Dominic. (Click below to hear more)

Dominic was recognized Saturday in Springfield. He was accompanied by his family and Bond County Health Department Volunteer Coordinator Karen File.
