The Illinois Department of Transportation project on Rt. 127 is beginning to be more visible in Greenville. The work stretches from Sale Barn Avenue near I-70, along Harris Avenue, north up Third Street, down the hill on College Avenue, to Patriot’s Park just west of town.
Passersby and pedestrians will notice barricaded sidewalks on several street corners in downtown Greenville right now.
Brian Williamsen, spokesman for IDOT, told us about the work scheduled to be done:
Williamsen said the roadway will never be totally closed, but you can expect to see lane closures at various spots along Rt. 127.
IDOT expects to wrap up the project in September.
