Police Investigate Attack On Greenville Dollar General Manager

Greenville police continue to investigate an attack on the Greenville Dollar General manager on April 2.

The store manager, Lisa Bridges of Vandalia, told police two males, believed to be Caucasian, and 5’6″ to 5’8″ in height, approached her when she reported for work about 5:30 a.m. She said the subjects were wearing dark hoodies and jeans.

Bridges ran from the men along the south side of the building, but was caught near the alley where the men allegedly struck her with their hands leading to injuries to her left eye and forehead and abrasions to the left side of her neck.

Greenville Police Chief Lou Lorton said the men did not display any weapons or indicate they had any.

Following the alleged attack, the men were believed to have been scared away by a vehicle traveling through the area.

Chief Lorton said police learned of the incident later that morning. He said Bridges had contacted the manager of the Dollar General store in Hillsboro and drove there to meet her. Bridges went to Hillsboro Area Hospital for treatment and Greenville Police were contacted by hospital personnel.
